This is the best part of a BBC sitcom namely "Extras". This sitcom has always been one of my favourites. Ricky Gervais was talking about the stupid "gutter press" and celebrities nowadays. But my favourite part actually starts at 2:00, I'm really moved everytime I watch this bit. "I will be the penguin coz I can eat the flying fish..." Need to watch the whole series in order to understand the power of this phrase!

Ａbout the store

Rat’s Cave is the first street wear + mini gallery concept store opened by the Hong Kong street art crew Start From Zero. Just like the name of the store, Rat’s Cave is a secret place for street artists - the hidden members in the society. All fashion and art lovers are welcomed to explore the street life inside the Rat’s Cave.

SFZ designs all the interior of the store. The handmade woodcrafts and stencils are used as key decorations. Except the street wear label “Start From Zero”, the store also holds various labels including the famous local art crew “Graphicairlines”, world exclusive Californian hot rods label “Loser Machine”, and the American tattoo and rockabilly label “Lucky 13”.

The gallery session will regularly hold different exhibitions; the first one will be “Introducing Rat’s Cave”, a solo exhibition by Start From Zero. It will launch at the same time with the Rat’s Cave grand opening party on 18 Dec 2010 (Sat), and there will be limited special products launching in the opening too!

About Start From Zero

Start From Zero (SFZ) is a street art crew founded in 2001, by the Hong Kong local street artist Dom. It began with a “start from zero” sticker, which is now a symbol of the crew. Apart from stickers, SFZ is also good at using wheat pastes; stencils to convey messages on streets.

There are double meanings for the name “Start From Zero”. The first meaning is about the background and independent spirit. SFZ started quietly on the streets, without any formal art background. Throughout the years the crew had left marks and traces over the decade, simply promote street art wholeheartedly and encourage people to live a different way of life!

Moreover, the word “start from zero” can also be a slogan for encouraging people when they are unhappy, down or miserable. By leaving the slogan around, SFZ wants to remind people to keep the faith, in order to overcome and restart no matter what happens.

Start From Zero is from the street; working quietly to promote street art culture in Hong Kong. The crew had taken part in various exhibitions and live-painting performances; and got featured in various publications. In 2006, SFZ created a street wear line, including products like T-shirts, badges, caps and other accessories. These are the additional media for Start From Zero to more widely spread the message to everyone. The line can be found in various stores in HK, Taiwan, Mainland China and Macau.

四十年代重慶真人真事

六歲的時候他認識了比他大十歲的她。
縱使受盡白眼和閒言閒語，在十六歲那一年他跟她說：「讓我照顧你一生一世好嗎？」

為了避開俗世，他們遠離塵世到深山定居，過著艱苦但快樂的生活。
上山下山步步艱難，為了怕妻子受傷，他決定用雙手開墾石級。
結果用了五十多年的時間，鑿了一條六千多級的石梯。

終於在 02 年一隊登山隊發現了這條偉大的天梯和這個驚世的愛情故事。
故事主人翁劉國江先生在 07 年與世長辭，她的妻子決定留在沒山，終生與天梯廝守。

謹把此曲獻給建造這偉大的愛情天梯的劉國江先生。

現代城市人追求科技進步，生活壓縮到嚇死人，目標為本，效率為先，對生活的觸感慚慚薄弱。

究竟這人生旅程要追求什麼呢？目的地也可能一樣，還是應忘記目標，體驗過程才更快樂。
這次展覽以“Primary”為主題，喚起一種 “喚醒”的感覺，不需要高級的技術，沒有華麗的粉飾，不需精密的解析，更不是為買家而製作。

是最初，很粗糙，沒規範的。回想小時候接觸各樣東西的興奮，一些簡單東西也能成為玩具，只要運用想像力已能創造出自已的世界。

這展覽不只是一個畫展，可以說更像一個小朋友的玩耍間，我們利用一些簡單的素材，如無聊膠玩具，鉛筆、擦紙膠、鉛子筆、圖釘等．算再加上一些在街上撿回來的各種材料，融合拼湊而成作品。

創作過程可能比完成品更為滿足，“Enjoy the Voyage”，這亦是我們 Graphic Airlines 一貫理念。
